‘Very rare’ mountain bike stolen by gang of men from house in Stockport

Police have launched an investigation after a ‘very rare’ mountain bike was stolen from a property in Stockport.

Officers were called to Stockport Road in Marple on Thursday 26 November to reports that three men had stolen a high-value YT mountain bike during a burglary.

The residents were inside the property at the time of the burglary which happened at around 5pm, police said.

Nobody is believed to have been injured during the terrifying incident, but the residents involved are said to be shaken and upset.

Police are now appealing for anyone who may have information on the whereabouts of the bike, to come foward.

They have released an image of the mountain bike, which has a black and white frame, with black handle bars and tyres.

It is said to be a very rare make and model.

A spokesperson for GMP said: “We were called after 5pm on Thursday 26 November 2020 to a report that three men had stolen a high-value YT mountain bike from a property on Stockport Road.

“The offenders are described as young white men with slim builds and wearing all black clothing.

“The residents were inside the address at the time of the incident and are understandably shaken up and upset.

“Police are appealing for any information regarding this burglary or the whereabouts of this mountain bike, which is a very rare make and model.”
