Anne Bardsley, an emerging artist from Oldham, is delighted to announce her debut solo exhibition at the Merseyway Shopping Centre from November 20th to 26th. The exhibition entitled “Wild Encounters” marks a significant milestone in Anne’s artistic career, showcasing her extraordinary talent in crafting stunning animal themed artwork that encapsulates the spirit of the creatures she admires.
Anne has already gained recognition through her collaboration with the Great Frogtastic Inventions Trail over the summer, where she created the notable frog sculpture, ‘Spoke.’ This piece not only pays tribute to the invention of the wheel but also celebrates Stockport’s essence. The design, sponsored by Stockport Council, introduced Anne to Stockport’s dynamic creative community and inspired her with its rich history and cultural diversity.
“I take great pride in my creation as it genuinely celebrates everything about Stockport,” Anne stated. “If my artwork can bring even a bit of joy to someone, then it’s worth it.”
Following the conclusion of the Frogtastic Inventions Trail, Anne’s sculpture will be auctioned off through an online auction ending on November 2nd. The proceeds will benefit Beacon Counselling, a commendable organisation dedicated to providing counselling and mental health support to individuals in and around the Greater Manchester Area.
Anne expressed her pride in supporting this charity, stating, “I’m incredibly proud to be able to support such a worthy cause with my art. I fell in love with the town while working on this project. So when the opportunity to host a Pop Up Shop in Stockport came up, I was eager to get involved and give back to the town that has given me so much.”
This highly anticipated exhibition offers a unique opportunity to see Anne’s original artwork, limited edition prints, and a collection of unique gifts. Attendees will be captivated by the variety and exceptional quality of her creations and the stories behind each piece. This event is an ideal way to celebrate Stockport’s recognition as Greater Manchester’s Town Of Culture for 2023 and support a local artist making significant strides in art and animal conservation.
The exhibition at The Pop Up in Merseyway Shopping Centre promises to be an engaging and inspiring event. It offers art enthusiasts an opportunity to explore Anne’s talent and passion. She looks forward to interacting with visitors, answering questions about her work, and sharing her artistic inspiration. Attendees may even have the chance to observe her working on a new piece of art. This exhibition is open to all at no charge, making it an excellent family friendly event. We encourage everyone to invite friends and family for a day of art and animal appreciation.
