Greater Manchester has seen a mixed bag of weather conditions so far in March.

It felt as if summer was just around the corner as temperatures soared last week, with glorious sunshine over the weekend and highs approaching 20C.

But recent days have felt like a step back into winter, with icy mornings and temperatures less than half of last weekend’s dizzying highs.

The latest Met Office forecast suggests our region could be set for another mild spell, however.

Conditions will feel much more spring-like in the coming days, with top temperatures hovering between 8C and 10C today (March 14) and tomorrow, before steadily climbing next week.

The Met Office is forecasting a cloudy day for Greater Manchester today, with sunny intervals by late afternoon.

Dry conditions are expected for most in Greater Manchester, although showers are forecast between 3pm and 5pm in Oldham, Rochdale, Tameside and Wigan – while the Met Office says other parts of the region also have a chance of rain at the same time.

Temperatures should drop to between 0C and 1C across the region over a clear night, before a bright, sunny Saturday morning.

Forecasters are expecting a dry weekend across Greater Manchester. Saturday will become cloudier as the morning progresses, with sunny intervals by late afternoon and highs of 9C to 10C across the region.

After another cold night, with lows between 0C and 1C, temperatures are set to pick up on Sunday.

Highs of 11C to 12C are forecast in Greater Manchester, but conditions will be overcast throughout the day. Temperatures are expected to hover around 4C overnight, heading into Monday.

Conditions are forecast to become warmer as next week goes on – with dry, sunny conditions currently forecast until Thursday.

Maximum temperatures could climb from 11C on Monday to 12C on Tuesday, 14C on Wednesday and 15C on Thursday, according to the Met Office forecast for Manchester.

Monday night could see lows of 0C, before milder conditions later in the week – with lows of 2C on Tuesday night, followed by 6C on Wednesday and Thursday nights.
