There are long delays on the M60 this morning after a crash near Stockport.
The smash happened on the clockwise stretch of the ring road near junction 27, the Portwood Roundabout.
No further details about the collision have yet been released but two lanes were closed at around 8am.
Queues quickly began to form during rush hour with tailbacks stretching back several miles to junction 24, Denton Island,Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) said.
“Long delays on the M60 Clockwise this morning, due to a RTC near Junction 27 (Stockport)” they said.
“Queues are currently backing up towards junction 24 (Denton Island).
“Consider using an alternative route if you’re planning to travel.”
North West Motorway Police said that vehicles had been reocvered and all lanes re-opened just before 8:30am.
However queues remain with TFGM saying “delays are likely until the end of the morning peak period.”
