A grieving family have paid tribute to an ‘amazing’ brother who passed away in Stockport last week.
Ryan Bodill, 26, died on Friday, July 30, in Reddish Vale Country Park.
Police were called to the park at 6:30am that morning to a report of a body being found.
Now, Ryan’s younger sister, Bryony Bodill, has paid tribute to her older brother — and said his passing ‘is like a stab straight to the heart’.
“It’s with a heavy heart that my brother and I heard the tragic news of our other brother’s shocking death,” she told the Manchester Evening News.
“He was an amazing brother to me, and I couldn’t really fault him for anything.

“He was always there to help when I needed him.
“He loved going out on walks and adventures to which he would often invite me to come along.”
Bryony said Ryan’s death was ‘truly unexpected’.
“I saw him quite a lot and he seemed perfectly fine and I’d even say happy, so to bear such horrific news, which was truly unexpected, is like a stab straight to the heart,” she said.
“It’s a wound that will never heal.”
The 18-year-old added that she hoped Ryan, a religious man, had found peace in heaven.
Bryony explained: “He was so young and deserved to live his life more than he already had.
“He was a religious man of the Christian faith, and although I may not share the same beliefs, I hope his soul is at rest and he is enjoying the beauty of Heaven he’d imagined and read about.
“I know that this is going to be something that will really take its toll on me personally. But he is going to be terribly missed and the rest of the family too.”
In the aftermath of Ryan’s death, police have confirmed his passing is being treated as ‘non-suspicious’.
A statement from GMP said: “Officers were called just before 6.30am today (30 July) to Reddish Vale Country Park, Stockport to a report of a body having been found.
“Emergency services attended and a man in his 20’s was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
“Enquiries are ongoing to trace his next of kin.
“There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding his death and a file will be passed to the coroner.”
