Stockport Symphony Orchestra hosts the exciting final of the Stockport International Young Musicians Competition

We can’t tell you exactly what to expect in this concert since the finalists and their pieces won’t become apparent until February. We can tell you it will be three well-known concertos played by three of the finest young musicians around. Our competition attracts entries from from all over the world from players aged 17 to 24.

But if we can’t tell you exactly what to expect, you should anticipate a stunning night of virtuoso playing. And we are privileged to welcome as conductor and chair of judges, Timothy Redmond, a regular guest conductor with the London Symphony Orchestra, Manchester Camerata and Fondazione Haydn, and Professor of Conducting at the Guildhall School of Music.
