A care home in Stockport welcomed the local community to boogie on down into the summer season.
The team at Care UK’s Ladybrook Manor, on Dairyground Road, were joined by the Stockport community for their first-ever summer festival.
Festivalgoers were transported back to the 1970s as guests had the opportunity to put on their dancing shoes on in the home’s garden and enjoy a boogie live music entertained everyone with music from across the decade.
Keen for the festival to taste as good as it sounded, visitors were treated to a traditional barbecue thoughtfully prepared by the home’s head chef.
Susan Cameron, General Manager at Ladybrook Manor, said: “We loved welcoming the local community to our summer festival where we officially welcomed summer in style.
“Here at Ladybrook Manor, we are always looking for new and exciting ways to support residents to lead fulfilling lives – and what better way to do that than to host our very own summer festival. Everyone had a fantastic time reliving the 1970s, and it was lovely to see residents reminiscing on where they were in the decade and revisiting some of their fashion decisions – much to everyone’s amusement.
“We love to connect and build strong relationships with our local community in Stockport and are planning to outdo ourselves with the next summer festival next year – so keep a look out!”
Designed to enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives, while also promoting independence, Ladybrook Manor, which remains open to potential residents, incorporates space for hobby and leisure activities. The building has been configured into a series of neighbourhoods to help facilitate the creation of close-knit communities and encourage social interaction among the residents.
