‘Device destroyed’ after bomb disposal experts called to street

A ‘device was destroyed’ by bomb disposal experts in Stockport yesterday.

Emergency services were first called to Bean Leach Road at around 12pm on Thursday (June 22). Police, fire crews and bomb disposal experts responded.

A device on the scene was found to be ‘non-suspicious’, police said. It was also non-explosive.

It was taken away from the area to be destroyed. A GMP spokesperson said: “Police were called to Bean Leach Road at around midday on Thursday, June 22.

“Explosive Ordnance Disposal and fire crews also attended. The device was found to be non-suspicious and non-explosive and was taken away to be destroyed.”
