Almost 600 properties were left without electricity after a power cut hit a borough in Greater Manchester on Tuesday night (January 21).
Electricity North West were called to around 571 properties being left without power in the SK3 postcode area of Stockport, including across Edgeley and Cheadle Heath.
“We are aware of a #powercut in the #SK3 area affecting 571 properties. We have engineers on the way looking into the issue” a post shared by Electricity North West said on X, formerly Twitter.
It is thought that the power cut was caused by an ‘unexpected incident’ on the ‘high voltage cable’ that provides electricity to homes and businesses.
“We didn’t know before your electricity went off that this was going to happen but now we know, rest assured we will get your power back on safely and as quickly as possible,” an update read.
Electricity North West engineers were investigating the issue as of 8pm on Tuesday.
